The Public Health Division of District Health Department No. 2 covers a wide variety of personal health services for clients who reside in Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw and Oscoda counties. Professional services are provided for pregnant women, infants, children, teens, adults and seniors regardless of income, health or social status. Vision and Hearing Screening
The Hearing Screening Program supports local health department screening of children at least once between the ages of three and five years and every other year between the ages of five and 12 years to prevent permanent repercussions of hearing impairment by the application of appropriate treatments. Children's Special Healthcare Services (CSHCS)
CSHCS is a program for children and some adults living with chronic health problems. There are over 2,000 qualifying diagnoses such as:
- Cancer
- Hearing loss
- Cerebral Palsy
- Insulin Dependent Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Muscular Dystrophy

Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
DHD#2 works to provide education and to reduce the incidence of Sexually Transmitted Infection among residents in our jurisdiction. Care provided is confidential and anonymous. HIV testing is also encouraged. More Information
Women's Health Care (BCCCP)/ Wise Women
District Health Department No. 2 has a breast and cervical cancer screening program for women ages 40 to 64. More Information
Family Planning Clinics
The family planning program promotes the well being of families by giving couples the opportunity to time pregnancies when they are best able to care for a child. Medicaid or income based sliding-scale fees. More Information
