Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative
Teen pregnancy is a widespread issue that is at the root of numerous social and health challenges. In 2009, 11.5% of all live births were to teenage mothers in the District Health Department #2 jursidiction (Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw & Oscoda Counties).
District Health Department #2 works to prevent teenage pregnancy through education and awareness. When funding is available, sexuality education classes are offered in local schools. Click here for our Taking Charge Program. Teens may also call or email District Health Department #2 for more information on preventing teenage pregnancy, or click on any of the resource links on the right.
