Family PlanningThe family planning program promotes the well being of families by giving couples the opportunity to time pregnancies when they are best able to care for a child. Medicaid or income based sliding-scale fees may apply.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention InitiativeTeen pregnancy is a widespread issue that is at the root of numerous social and health challenges. In 2007, 4.3% of teenage girls experienced a pregnancy in the United States, while percentages were 2.8% in Michigan and 5.2% in the District Health Department #2 jursidiction (Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw & Oscoda Counties). District Health Department #2 works to prevent teenage pregnancy through education and awareness. When funding is available, sexuality education classes are offered in local schools.
