Smoking Cessation Services

District Health Department No. 2 does not currently offer smoking cessation or stop smoking classes. However, we are able to provide residents with Michigan Smokers Quit Kits and refer them to local resources that are available.

Currently, Tawas St. Joseph Health Systems offers Tobacco Cessation Counseling for anyone who wants to stop smoking. The hour-long session is facilitated by a Liscensed Respiratory Therapist and consists of education, developing a quit plan, discussing nicotine replacement options and more. Tobacco counseling is a covered benefit through many insurance plans and a discount is available for clients without insurance.
