Women's Health Care Programs

Early Detection is the Best Prevention

District Health Department No.2 has a Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) for Women Ages 40 to 64. The BCCCP program provides FREE annual screening and follow-up care for low-income women with little or no health insurance. The following services are recommended each year for women over 40:

  • Breast exam
  • Mammogram
  • Pelvice exam
  • Pap smear
  • Colorectal exam
  • Patient education

The Well Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation or Wise Women Program is for women age 40 through 64 who already participate in the BCCCP program. It is a cardiovascular screening program that encourages healthier lifestyles for women.  FREE cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure screenings and follow-up treatment are available to help women prevent chronic disease.
